Beisbol y Softbol serán un solo deporte en los Bolivarianos

Prensa/IND/Jabeando/Deportivas/19-10-2017.- Las disciplinas del béisbol y softbol estarán en acción como un solo deporte  en la próxima edición de los Juegos Bolivarianos Santa Marta 2017, evento que se disputarán desde los días 11 al 25 de noviembre próximo.

Como se recordará por disposición del Comité Olímpico Internacional para los eventos del ciclo olímpico, ambas especialidades se unen en uno solo deporte, por lo que las damas disputarán las medallas en softbol, y los caballeros lo harán en béisbol, tal y como está estipulado para los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020, según refleja la web del evento bolivariano.

Un total de 6 equipos-país integrados por 17 jugadoras cada uno jugarán en el softbol, cuyo campeonato está pautado para celebrarse del 12 al 16 de noviembre, y donde Venezuela se enfrentará a las representaciones de Bolivia, Panamá, República Dominicana, Perú y la nación anfitriona.

Mientras que en el beisbol Venezuela se medirá a las selecciones de Panamá, El Salvador, Perú, Ecuador y el conjunto neogranadino. El torneo se llevará a cabo del 8 al 23 de noviembre con un total de 132 peloteros.

En el softbol de la pasada edición de los Juegos Bolivarianos de Trujillo 2013, fue ganado por República Dominicana, Venezuela se quedó con la de plata y Colombia obtuvo el bronce. Entre tanto, en el béisbol, las preseas doradas, plateadas y bronceadas fueron para Panamá, Venezuela y Ecuador, respectivamente.
